About this Course
<p>The syllabus is divided into two major phases, following the Irodori: Japanese for Life in Japan textbooks.</p><p><b>Phase 1: Elementary 1 (A2-1) – Daily Foundations</b></p><ul><li>Focuses on establishing independence in common social and survival situations.</li><li>Topics: My Current Self, Seasons & Weather, My Town, Going Out, and Healthy Life.</li><li>Key Skills: * Ordering food and explaining dietary restrictions/allergies.</li><li>Giving and following directions to locations like the post office or hospital.</li><li>Describing physical symptoms and understanding a doctor's advice.</li><li>Reporting late arrivals or requesting a day off at work.</li></ul><p><b>Phase 2: Elementary 2 (A2-2) – Social & Workplace Integration</b></p><ul><li>Moves toward more complex interactions and professional responsibilities.</li><li>Topics: People Around Me, At a Restaurant, Let’s Go on a Trip, Annual Events & Manners, and Nature/Environment.</li><li>Key Skills: * Describing people's personalities and appearances.</li><li>Handling travel reservations and responding to changes in plans.</li><li>Participating in local festivals and understanding Japanese holidays.</li><li>Disaster Preparedness: Understanding instructions during earthquakes or typhoons.</li><li>Discussing future goals and professional aspirations.</li></ul><p><b>3. Test Component Strategy (JFT-Basic Sections)</b></p><p>We provide specific drills for the four sections of the exam:</p><ul><li>Script & Vocabulary: Focus on Kanji and words used in signs, menus, and text messages.</li><li>Conversation & Expression: Practicing the "grammar in context" rather than just isolated rules.</li><li>Listening Comprehension: Audio drills featuring near-natural speed announcements and dialogues.</li><li>Reading Comprehension: Practice reading social media posts, notices, and simple news.</li><li><br></li></ul><p><b>Course Outcomes</b></p><ul><li>By the end of this course, students will be able to:</li><li>Achieve a passing score (200/250) on the JFT-Basic Exam for SSW visa eligibility.</li><li>Communicate effectively in simple, routine tasks at a Japanese workplace.</li><li>Navigate daily life in Japan (shopping, transit, emergencies) without significant assistance.</li><li>Transition smoothly into the Japanese work environment with a strong grasp of cultural expectations.</li></ul>
